BUGS

Bugs. Bugs. Bug bites. Bugs. That was pretty much my entire weekend. Damn bugs.
I also started my “Books to Bring to College” list. I started with about 20 books, which I’ve narrowed down to 16. People have been telling me that I should leave as many books at home as I possibly can, which I’ve done a pretty good job of. I mean, 16 out of about 100 isn’t bad.
The thing is, books are kind of my comfort blanket. When I’m upset or worried I grab one of my favourite books and lose myself in the world between the pages. Most of the books on my list are so familiar to me that I can quote them offhand and can flip to any page and know exactly what has happened to lead up to the current scene. My books and my dog are the constants in my life, and have been my best friends over the years. Every time that we would move, and I’d be so terrified in a new house, going to a new school and trying to make new friends, I would rely on my books and my dog to keep me company and cheer me up. I’m not allowed to bring pets to residence, and it wouldn’t be fair to bring my ancient dog with me and away from my mother and the way of life my dog is used to. So now I only have my books.
Yeah, other than that I did a lot of outside things, and got eaten alive. Damn bugs.
