“The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life.”

The biggest issue with people is that they tend to stagnate. Nobody takes time to breathe because they’re too busy hurrying around through life. Ironically, they’re the ones worried about missing something, and they’re missing everything. Life is most interesting if you’re getting excited about stupid things or being interested enough to investigate things.

Children run around being so fascinated by the world around them, and they’re rarely as unhappy as grownups. Somehow, people tend to forget their childhood selves, and forget to think crazy things and constantly ask why and how things are the way they are.

People are fascinating, but we also tend to be overly self-absorbed. We spend all of our time with ourselves, stuck in our heads with noisy thoughts, so other people don’t seem as important or real as we are. We forget to listen to them, and to be interested in their lives. People are so fascinating, and they have so many reasons for the decisions they make. They’re so full of emotions and thoughts, with their own loud thoughts in their heads and their own universes. We’re all spinning around randomly, occasionally crashing in to one another, and leaving behind trails of light and/or destruction. Personally, I’m stuck with myself so much that I love having others around to cut the monotony. I get a bit bored with myself and my thoughts and my universe, until someone else comes around and allows me a glimpse into their mind and life.

I’ve never understood how people can be bored, or totally uninterested in the world around them. There are so many interesting things. Life is like one of those optical illusions. You can look at it every day for years and see one thing, then, one day, just suddenly see something completely different.
